Our missionary in Panama, Kim Rowell, has served there since 1983. For 26 years he has devoted his life to the Panamanian people and to assisting them in every area of their lives—particularly in spiritual matters.

Their organization is Panamis, which is dedicated to continuing the mission of Jesus Christ. Their stated mission is threefold:

1.  Preaching the Gospel.

2.  Teaching God’s children how to live.

3.  Doing good to all men.

Kim has been exemplary in following these goals. Working in the rain forests of Panama, Kim saw the people's great need of medical care. Not only were no doctors available, but the distance to any type of medical assistance made access impossible for them.  Kim was soon training in medical missions and provided the only professional medical assistance many of them knew for several years. More recently, Dr. Arles Caballero has begun providing much-needed medical assistance.

Kim has also set up model farms, teaching the people how to improve methods and productivity as they also share in the bounty of the crops they plant and harvest. Murrieta Church of Christ and other supporting congregations have together provided funds for the purchase of boats, tractors, building supplies, tools and other items to assist the Rowells in their ministry.

Due to a lack of school supplies and the remoteness of some of the locations in which they often labor, Kim shared a need with our congregation: school supplies for the children of the rain forests. Our children regularly bring donations to their Sunday School classes for these children of the rain forest. As a result, we annually provide upwards of $600.00 for this need. One of the pictures in the slide show above shows Kim sharing school supplies with the children of the rain forest that had been purchased with money our kids raised.
