The mission of Murrieta Church of Christ is:
- To love the Lord our God with all our heart, soul, mind and strength and to love our neighbor as ourselves. (Matthew 22:37-39)
- To make disciples of all nations, to baptize them in the name of the Father, Son and Holy Spirit and to teach them all that Jesus commanded us. (Matthew 28:19-20)
- To preserve the unity of the church through the bond of peace. (Ephesians 4:3)
- To preserve the integrity of God's Holy Word. (II Timothy 3:16)
Our desire is to introduce people to the abundant life Jesus prayed for in John 10:10. “I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly.”
We want to grow spiritually closer to our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, to grow closer together as a family of God, and to reach out in love to those who are hurting and in need of a Savior.
Based on 1 Corinthians 12:21-27, we believe we are a family (body) of Christ--His family with many parts. We desire to have strong marriages, educational programs, fellowship and outreach.
Our specific mission for 2009: TAKING IT TO THE STREETS
In 2008 each member was encouraged to participate in some way in our foreign Missions. As a result, several members visited the missionaries we support in the Philippines, Mexico and Canada, and early in 2009 a team went to Panama.
This year, our focus is closer to home--in fact, in our own streets and neighborhoods. We seek to share the Good News with our own neighbors, friends and those we encounter in our daily lives.
Of course we are in no way abandoning any foreign mission work. In fact, we encourage you to follow the link below to learn about the specific missions works we support.
